Once in a while, when we can't get a reading from your inside water meter, we'll ask for your help. Here's how to be a meter-reader.

It happens - for residences with inside water meters, sometimes a WSSC Water meter-readers cannot get a water usage reading. When that's the case, we'll ask you to submit a meter reading yourself.

There are several ways to submit your meter reading:

  • The easiest way is to submit meter readings online through the MyWSSCWater portal. Just log in to enter the meter reading directly into the website.
  • Use the voice response system: You can submit your meter reading over the phone by using our automated Interactive Voice Response System, which is available 24/7. Dial 301-206-4001 or toll free at 1-800-634-8400. Be sure to have your WSSC Water account number handy.
  • Call Customer Service: Dial 301-206-4001 (toll free 1-800-634-8400) to speak to a customer service advisor.
  • Email: Send a picture of the meter reading to customerservice@wsscwater.com. Be sure to include the account number and the service address in the subject line or body of the email.
  • Meter Reading Request Card: If you received a meter reading request card, fill in the meter reading by hand and return the card promptly to WSSC Water.
